Surchin Advanced Mailing Technologies reveals the most “intelligent” addition to the transaction mail inserter marketplace

Intelligent Destiny™ processes an extensive variety of transaction mailings with comprehensive integrity

Deer Park, N.Y., January 5, 2004 – Surchin Advanced Mailing Technologies, a unit of H.M. Surchin Co., Inc. and a leading provider of intelligent inserting, inspection and validation solutions for document processing and production mail, today announced the introduction of a feature-rich intelligent inserter to the transaction mail marketplace, the Intelligent Destiny™. The Intelligent Destiny™ combines variable page-set assembly and selective inserting with proven hardware for transaction, fulfillment and high-end direct mail applications.

The Intelligent Destiny™, which is upgradeable and modular, increases operator productivity with a minimal amount of downtime and minimizes the skills necessary to set up, maintain and operate the inserter. The system handles cut-sheet and one-up and two-up continuous forms input. Importantly, the Intelligent Destiny™ has the ability to process larger mail-kit sizes including 7” x 12 1/2” envelopes and their accompanying inserts.

The Intelligent Destiny™ is powered by MailVision®, the leading camera-/ scanner-based engineering system for validated variable document assembly applications. It reads nearly all character fonts, 2D barcodes, standard barcodes, symbologies, patterns and OMR line marks. In addition, it provides for comprehensive data reporting on intelligent job processing.

“We are ecstatic about the Intelligent Destiny™, our latest addition to the Surchin family of inserters. It is an automated transaction mail inserting solution that is uniquely easy on users,” said Seth Surchin, Vice President of product management and business development for SAMT. “This will expand customer intelligent inserting capabilities, increase productivity and reduce costs for our accounts.”

Key features include:
Forms input – The Intelligent Destiny™ processes multiple, variable length page-sets and accumulates the sets before or after the fold.
Variable page set accumulation – Document sets are individually validated at the sheet level for their integrity. The Intelligent Destiny™ receives instruction from character font codes, 2D and standard barcodes, and OMR line marks. In addition to standard configurations, the system lends itself to file-based processing.
Selective inserting – Multi-sheet documents and insert components are selectively combined in envelopes in the Intelligent Destiny™'s inserting section. For insert components, individual insert hoppers are activated and deactivated based on variable information found on the primary multi-sheet document or job file (for the file-based environment).
File-based or form-driven – Set-size, selective inserting and additional intelligent instruction can either be file-based or determined by coding on continuous or cut-sheet forms input.
Data reporting – Intelligent Destiny™ offers optional comprehensive data reporting for end-to-end-validated intelligent mail processing.
