Surchin Advanced Mailing Technologies
unveils the mail production industry’s “Destiny™”
Production mailers can now process an exceptionally wide range
of mail-kits at highly cost-effective ecomomics with SAMT's
latest inserter.
Deer Park, N.Y., February 24, 2003
– Surchin Advanced Mailing Technologies (SAMT), a unit
of H.M. Surchin Co., Inc. and a leading provider of intelligent
inserting, inspection and validation solutions for document
processing and production mail, announced the introduction
of a new inserter to its product line. The inserter –
named Destiny™ – is a high-speed, high-throughput,
versatile inserter that is extremely efficient yet low in
cost and is in competition with equipment costing twice as
much. Factoring in its cost – and due to its productivity
– it produces direct mail and document mailings at a
low cost per mail-piece significantly magnifying profits for
lettershop and service bureau mailers, and huge savings for
the in-house mailer.
The Destiny™ maintains high throughput
production rates over long periods of time with a minimal
amount of mechanically driven downtime. Because of its reliability,
it is an ideal solution for the mass mailer who schedules
mailings precisely for job completion within a given time
frame. It features an extended frame for easy upgradeability
to intelligent inserting.
“We are very excited to offer this
leading-edge, extremely capable inserter to the production
mail marketplace,” said Hy Surchin, president of SAMT.
“The Destiny™, rugged in construction, can handle
any size of mailpiece run – whether large or small –
as well as a plethora of envelope and insert sizes. This is
one of the most versatile inserters in the marketplace today.”

| Important
Destiny™ features include: |
 |
Gripper
Arm Detectors, EZ Set-Up and Bounce Over
– Sensitive gripper jaw detectors are fitted
to the grab arms at each station so that any misfeed
immediately stops the inserter. The gripper arms
are also equipped with EZ Set-Up, where the operator
presses a button and the gripper arm is automatically
set-up and Bounce Over, where the insert station
becomes inactive when materials are low and the
adjacent insert station is activated. |
 |
Electronic
Air Valve System – Ensures the required
suction for each insert and envelope station, allowing
smooth running and superb handling throughout the
entire speed range. |
 |
Extended
Frame – With a customer's potential
future needs in mind – the Destiny™
is “prepped” to accept component modules
(such as feeder/ accumulator/ folder) for in-line
document finishing capabilities. This may eliminate
the necessity of investing again at a future date
for high-cost equipment to process statement mailings.
Or, more simply, when seven inserts are required
– to position a friction feeder in place. |
 |
Footprint
– The Destiny™ – with
its compact dimensions – takes into account
the high cost of floor space. Since inserts and
envelopes can be stacked for easy access by the
operator – floor space utilization is maximized.
Warehouse personnel also have easy access to the
Destiny™ and the removal of inserted and mail-trayed
envelopes. |
 |
Inserts
and Envelope Sizes – The Destiny™
processes enclosures of varying sizes, thicknesses,
and finishes and inserts them into envelopes ranging
from 3 1/4” x 6 1/2” to 7” x 12
1/2”. |
|
|
| |
| As an option, the Destiny™
can be equipped with SAMT's MailVision®
camera-based reading technology, the leading reading system
for automated matched mail processing, in-line ink-jet addressing,
selective inserting, sequence number checking, document and
mail integrity validation and other high-value mail processing
applications. |
